This article will teach you how to add a common area to your property. Common areas are those areas on the property that can be used by all tenants.
Note: See the Adding an Equipment Area article for reference as they are added separately.
- From the Property & Facility menu, click Properties.
- From the Properties page, click the name of the Property that you desire to add a common area to.
- From the [Property Name] page, click the Spaces tab, and then click the Add Space button.
- Once the Add New Space window has opened, complete the form presented:

| Building | Select the building that you desire to add a common area to. |
| Floor | Enter the floor that the common area is located on. |
| Suite Name | Enter the name for the common area. |
| RSF | Enter zero (0) for RSF as common areas are already included in the RSF of the tenant spaces. |
| Is Common Area | Select this checkbox because the space we are adding is a common area. |
| Has Equipment | Do not select this checkbox for common areas. |
| Is Primary | Do not select this checkbox for common areas. |
| Lease | Select VACANT as the space we are adding is a common area. |
- Click the Save button.
- The new common area space has now been added to your property.
